National Book Store, in partnership with Marvel Comics, is bringing Marvel's Senior Vice President for Creator and Content Development, and International talent scount C.B. Cebulski to Manila to conduct portfolio reviews.
Please submit your portfolio and cover page (download here) via courier, mail or hand-carry to the following address: National Book Store Marketing Department, Quad Alpha Centrum, 125 Pioneer St., Mandaluyong City, 1550, Philippines. You are responsible for the submission of your portfolio. National Book Store will not be responsible for portfolios that get lost in the mail or arrive late past the deadline. All entries must be with National Book Store Marketing Department by the deadline which is the end of business day, March 10, 2012. Do not wait for the last minute to submit your portfolios!
Only completed submissions will be considered for the one-on-one interviews with C.B. Cebulski from Saturday, March 18-20, 2012. Shortlisted artists will be contacted by mbile phone on March 18, 2012 with details regarding the interviews. Slots given cannot be changed. Failure to arrive at the given time will mean forfeiture of the slot.
Submission Criteria and Guidelines:
Pencilers:
>Submission must be in hard copies. Ensure that these are the copies only, not originals, as they will not be returned.
>Minimum of five (5) pages of sequential art, a few pin-ups and/or cover illustrations.
>Marvel characters preferred but not necessary.
>Submission need not be in color. Black and white line art is acceptable.
>All submission must come with the cover page duly completed.
Cover Artists/Painters:
>Submission must be in hard copies. Ensure that these are the copies only, not originals, as they will not be returned.
>Minimum of five (5) illustrations.
>Black and white or full colour is acceptable.
>Marvel characters preferred but not necessary.
>All submission must come with the cover page duly completed.
Inkers
>Submission must be in hard copies.
>All submission must be original showing the original art that are colored over.
>Minimum of five (5) pages.
>All submission must come with the cover page duly completed.
Important Notes:
>Submissions are strictly restricted to artists' own works or creations.
>No pitches, proposals and submission from budding writers will be eligible for review.
>Submissions will not be returned and will belong to Marvel Comics.
>All submissions must be accompanied by a duly completed covering page. Applicants should state their full name as per identification document (any valid photo ID, including Passport, SSS, or driver's license) and the relevant associated identification document number.
