Southern community stands proud and stands out at Alabang Town Center
Something is brewing south of Makati! Exciting changes are unfolding as Alabang Town Center gives you more of what you love about Southern Manila's premiere shopping mall. With the redevelopment in full swing, there's plenty of room to celebrate all things outstanding at Alabang Town Center. To usher in its new offerings, Alabang Town Center is unleashing OutsTOWNding, a community talent showdown.
Leading up to the unveiling of Alabang Town Center's new offerings, the community’s talents will converge at Alabang Town Center to showcase their musical and artistic skills in a series of competition that seek to bring out the south's cream of the crop.
OutsTownding started with a blast on October 15 & 16 as future hit makers rocked out at the Town Plaza in a band competition featuring the following genres: emo, pop and Filipino indigenous rock. All participants got to perform a cover and an original song but 3 bands stood out and were announced winners. Best of the best is Lady Ransom, a true blue southern band with members hailing from Southridge and Southville, with runners up Not Applicable formerly from Dela Salle Zobel, and Violente de Santo from UP Diliman. Music fans also got their dose of fun and entertainment as they watched Pupil cap off the music festivities. The competition was held in partnership with Pulp Magazine and Jam 88.3.
On November 26 and 27, young dancers will take their turn on center stage at the Activity Center in a dance-off. Dance crews bust a groove while solo acts get to showcase their personal styles as they toe – rise, split leap, pirouette, and free spin their way to victory.
On December 17 and 18, music will fill the air as the Town Plaza hosts a show choir contest. Talented show choirs will have to perform mash-ups of their favorite songs. Mall patrons get to enjoy two nights of music and dine al fresco with selections from Alabang Town Center’s top family dining destinations.
Finally, in January 2012, future fashion icons will be on parade in a fashion styling tilt featuring fashion forecasts of styles for summer. Aspiring young stylists and models get to participate in this fearless fashion showdown, and will be featured in a fashion exhibit and a fashion show highlighting Alabang Town Center’s wide array of top local and international brands.
OutsTOWNding will build up to a celebration of what makes the community loud and proud -- with a lot of exciting things in store for the winners.
